It is important to remember that any of the queer characters mentioned in these pages can be played by Asian actors.  However, there have only been a very small number of musicals that have explored the intersection between Asian and queer experiences.  This is definitely an area that is ripe for exploration in new musical theatre, and the positive representations of South and East Asian characters in the new semi-autobiographical musical Interstate by Kit Yan and Melissa Li are a great starting point.
