REPRESENT! - The queermusicals.com podcast
We are delighted to present a new podcast series presented by Dr James Lovelock that focuses on representation in the musical theatre industry.
Each episode will feature actors and creatives from recent productions that explore the idea of 'queer spaces', including the Regents' Park Open Air Theatre production of Legally Blonde, the Hope Mill Theatre production of Rent, the Turbine Theatre production of But I'm A Cheerleader! and the East West Theatre production of Interstate: A New Musical.
We discuss how each production amplifies queer voices and challenges some of the conventions of musical theatre. The series highlights the importance of queer joy, queer spaces and queer community in creating new queer work for the theatre.
